At Duffy & Duffy, we know that Thanksgiving is about more than just turkey and trimmings—it’s about gathering with loved ones, sharing gratitude, and, of course, enjoying some delicious food. This year, we decided to add a little fun to the mix by asking our team to weigh in on two of the most hotly debated Thanksgiving dilemmas:

• What’s the perfect time to eat Thanksgiving dinner?
• Which pie truly deserves the spotlight: pumpkin, apple, or pecan?

Thanksgiving Dinner: Early Feast or Late Gathering?

When it comes to the timing of Thanksgiving dinner, opinions are as diverse as the sides on the table. Some of our colleagues are fans of the early afternoon feast, believing that a 2 PM or 3 PM meal leaves plenty of time for naps and second helpings later in the evening. Others stand firmly behind a later dinner, closer to 7 or 8 PM, to keep the focus on family time and ensure the turkey is perfectly roasted.

No matter the time, one thing’s for sure: everyone agreed that the meal brings people together and marks the start of cherished holiday traditions.

The Ultimate Thanksgiving Pie Debate

Next, we tackled the sweet ending to the meal: pie. The competition was fierce as our team cast their votes between the classics:

• Pumpkin Pie: A Thanksgiving staple with its creamy texture and warm spices, pumpkin pie found plenty of fans. For many, it’s simply not Thanksgiving without a slice topped with whipped cream.
• Apple Pie: A timeless favorite that brings the comfort of home-baked goodness, apple pie had its fair share of loyal supporters. Whether served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or on its own, it’s always a crowd-pleaser.
• Pecan Pie: The rich, nutty decadence of pecan pie made it a top choice for those craving something indulgent. Its sticky-sweet filling and crunchy topping are hard to resist.

While the votes were close, apple pie emerged as the winner—proving once again that tradition holds strong during the holidays.
