Lizbeth earned her J.D. from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2017. She was a recipient of the LIHBA fellowship and the Ramos Memorial Endowed Scholarship. While attending law school she served as a legal intern at Carecen-NY through the Hofstra immigration clinic where she jointly conducted a citizenship drive to help eligible legal permanent residents become U.S. citizens, conducted media outreach, and worked on visa applications, Special Juvenile Status petitions, and deferred action petitions. She also served as a legal intern for the Hofstra Asylum clinic, filed petitions for applicants and prepared clients for direct and cross-examination. In addition, Lizbeth was a judicial intern for a judge at the New York State Supreme Court, Queens County.
Lizbeth earned her B.A. in Political Science, Comparative Governments and Human Rights with honors from John Jay College (CUNY) in 2013. While attending John Jay College, she was a member of the Pre-Law Society, Pi Sigma Alpha Chapter Member, and multiple recipient of the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship for Political and Legal Activism.
